+60 years of developing young footballers

THJFC was founded in 1964, to give children across South-East London the chance to develop their football and life skills. More than 60 years on we remain true to our roots, still playing home matches less than a mile from our birthplace on the Tulse Hill Estate.

 

Today, we have over 250 girls and boys between the ages of five to 15, joining us from Tulse Hill, Dulwich, Brixton, Streatham, Herne Hill and more. We remain committed to developing them as footballers, with qualified and experienced coaches at every age level.

 

The club has won the London FA Cup on four occasions and numerous players have go on to play semi-professional and professional football.

 

Football is as much about what’s in the mind as what’s at your feet.

 

As importantly, we focus on nurturing life skills to help children grow not just as players, but people. At our heart is about engaging and motivating children through the love of football to win with grace, lose with dignity, always with a spirit of inclusivity and fairplay.

We are focused on the long term, growing in a responsible and sustainable way. We were the first club in our league to receive the FA Charter Standard, and more recently the FA Development Status, which recognises our commitment and achievements in grassroots football. All our coaches are qualified and DBS checked, we have a Club Safeguarding Policy, and we uphold the values of The FA’s Respect Programme.​
